YNU hosts 2024 China Resource Recycling Conference

The 2024 China Resource Recycling Conference, hosted by Yunnan University (YNU), took place from Sept 27 to 30 in Kunming, capital of Southwest China's Yunnan province.

The conference, themed "Resource Recycling Based on Carbon Neutrality," was co-hosted by the China Society of Natural Resources, YNU, Nankai University, and Tianjin University. YNU's School of Ecology and Environment Science and the Institute of Plateau Lake Ecology and Governance were the main organizers.

Professor Ma Wenhui, president of YNU, and Professor Chen Liding, dean of the School of Ecology and Environment Science, along with representatives from various organizations, attended the event with nearly 400 experts, scholars, and graduate students from global universities and research institutes.

The opening ceremony was held on the morning of Sept 27, where President Ma delivered a speech on behalf of YNU. He hoped for collective efforts to advance resource recycling and develop natural resource science and technology. He also emphasized the need to foster the harmonious development of resources, ecology, the environment, and the economy.

The conference featured 10 plenary talks, 219 parallel session reports, and 32 graduate student presentations. Four awards were presented for outstanding graduate student reports.

Throughout the event, experts and scholars shared the latest research achievements in resource recycling. Post-conference collaborations are expected to improve, potentially leading to innovative solutions that will contribute to China's sustainable development goals.
