The founding meeting of Yunnan University Australia Alumni Association was held on Oct 17 in Sydney, Australia. The meeting was attended online by the university's Vice President Chen Keqing and in person by alumni representatives living in Australia.

Chen congratulated the official establishment of the Australia Alumni Association on behalf of the university.
Wu Han, a 2016 alumnus from the university's Law School and the newly elected president of the association's first council, pledged to work with fellow alumni to promote the association's growth.
Zhu Junheng, a 2004 alumnus of the university's School of Economics and the association's secretary-general, hosted the meeting and provided an overview of the association's preparations.
Attendees reminisced about their time at Yunnan University and expressed gratitude and affection for their alma mater.
The meeting also reviewed and approved the Charter of Yunnan University Australian Alumni Association and elected its first council members. Moving forwards, the alumni association aims to strengthen ties between alumni in Australia and their beloved alma mater.
