Yunnan University, Yuxi city forge strategic partnership

On Oct 23, Yunnan University held a meeting with Yuxi city, signing a strategic cooperation agreement with the management committee of the Yuxi National High-tech Industrial Development Zone.

Wang Li, secretary of CPC Yuxi Municipal Committee, expressed hopes for strengthening the integration of industry, academia, and research between the two entities, particularly in sectors like biomedicine. He also encouraged deeper collaboration in the integrated development of cultural, sports, and tourism industries, cultural heritage utilization, and lake protection and management.

Zhou Xuebin, secretary of the CPC Yunnan University Committee, noted that the university will use its disciplinary, professional, talent, and intellectual resources to enhance cooperation in line with Yuxi's economic development needs.

Ma Wenhui, president of Yunnan University, highlighted regional collaboration plans aligning with dual carbon goals. These plans would promote the efficient integration of research and application, further contributing to Yuxi's high-quality development.

During the meeting, Yunnan University Carbon Neutral Innovation Center signed a zero-carbon factory construction agreement with Yunnan Kuntian New Energy Co and Xinglian Zhengchu (Yuxi) New Energy Technology Co.

Both parties will initiate feasibility studies on zero-carbon energy stations, research on big data applications, a new energy battery inspection and monitoring platform, and 15 other school-enterprise innovation projects, advancing the creation of a zero-carbon park in Yuxi National High-tech Industrial Development Zone.
