YNU Affiliated Hospital helps Vietnamese restore eye health

A team of medical professionals from the Affiliated Hospital of Yunnan University (YNU) in Kunming, capital of Southwest China's Yunnan province, recently launched the "Bright Journey" free cataract surgery project in Yen Bai province, Vietnam. The project aims to restore sight to 100 cataract patients in the province.

This initiative concretizes the joint statement between China and Vietnam on enhancing exchange and cooperation in healthcare and traditional medicine, strengthens the comprehensive strategic partnership, and advances the China-Vietnam community with a shared future.

The project seeks to foster close ties by using modern medical technology to treat cataract patients in Vietnam. It will facilitate experience-sharing and collaboration with local healthcare professionals and improve the vision and quality of life of cataract patients in Yen Bai, particularly those from financially disadvantaged backgrounds.

Through this program, Yunnan province has expanded its cooperation with Vietnamese regions in the healthcare field, contributing to building a shared future between China and Vietnam. This is also the sixth time Yunnan University's Affiliated Hospital has dispatched a medical team for the "Bright Journey" initiative.

The hospital will continue participating in international medical aid efforts, building a global health community and promoting peace and development worldwide.
