From Nov 8 to 10, the "Pengcheng Wanli" team from the School of International Chinese Language Education at Yunnan University (YNU) represented Yunnan province at the inaugural China Postgraduate "Cultural China" Innovation Competition. They were the only team from Yunnan to advance to the national finals, ultimately winning second place.

The competition featured various topics, including creative reinterpretations of Chinese myths and folktales, Confucius and the Community of Shared Future for Mankind, visions of beauty and goodness by ancient Chinese sages, a specialized dance category, and open topics.
The YNU team project was titled Camel Bells on the Silk Road: The Journey of Silk and Civilization. It used "AI + Shadow Puppetry Animation" technology to vividly portray four legendary stories, bringing to life the westward spread of silk culture along the Silk Road.
This project dynamically retold the transmission of sericulture, illustrating the rich history of Silk Road exchanges and mutual learning. It highlighted the Silk Road's relevance within the Belt and Road Initiative framework, fostering greater appreciation and understanding of Chinese folklore, folk art, and Silk Road heritage among global audiences.
This event, the first public-interest competition focused specifically on humanities and culture, is an essential part of the China Postgraduate Innovation and Practice Competitions. It aims to encourage graduate students to actively engage in the innovation and practice of traditional Chinese culture, foster cultural creativity, and develop talent in the cultural field for the nation and society.
