Yunnan University (YNU) has achieved outstanding success at the 2024 "Huawei Cup" 21st National Post-Graduate Mathematic Contest in Modeling.

The university secured 61 national-level awards, including three first prizes, 23 second prizes, and 35 third prizes, a new university record. It also received the Excellent Organization Award, and Professor Zhao Yue received the Outstanding Individual Award.
According to competition rules, each participating institution is limited to three national first prizes. Yunnan University achieved a full quota of first prizes for the first time, joining an elite group of only 24 institutions among 521 participating graduate schools to earn this distinction.
Graduate students from YNU's 12 schools, including Mathematics and Statistics, Information, Software, and Ecology, won awards, showcasing their ability to apply mathematical knowledge to real-world problem-solving.
The university values the contest highly, incorporating it into its graduate innovation training programs with financial support and comprehensive preparation. The School of Mathematics and Statistics organized workshops and training sessions led by expert mentors and competition veterans, ensuring students were well-prepared for the challenge.
This marks the fourth consecutive year that Yunnan University students have won first prizes in the contest, a testament to the university's commitment to fostering innovation and practical skills among its graduate students.
