Yunnan University, or YNU – located in Kunming, capital of Southwest China's Yunnan province – held the 2025 Commencement and Degree Conferral Ceremony on its Chenggong Campus on June 15.
The ceremony began with speeches from representatives of undergraduate, graduate and international students, as well as faculty members and parents – expressing their gratitude and aspirations for the future.
Alumnus and Academician Cao Zhen shared his reflections on his time spent at Yunnan University, and he encouraged graduates to uphold their ideals, pursue the truth, and serve the nation with integrity and ambition.
Ma Wenhui, president of the university, extended his congratulations to the graduates and reflected on their growth during their years at the university.
He emphasized YNU's century-long history and spirit of openness and public responsibility – urging students to pursue lifelong learning, innovation and moral development.

Awards were presented to outstanding graduates, to representatives of those who earned excellent grades in the physical fitness test for graduates and to contributors to student activities.

The event concluded with the formal conferral of the degrees. Graduates proceeded across the stage in their academic regalia to receive their diplomas.
