The 10th Symposium on International Chinese Communication was held on July 12-13 at Yunnan University in Kunming, capital of Southwest China's Yunnan province. Themed "Theories and Practices of International Chinese Communication in the Context of National Rejuvenation", the event brought together over 200 scholars, educators, and student representatives from more than 60 universities and research institutions from China and abroad for in-depth discussions.

Experts delivered 10 keynote speeches covering a range of cutting-edge topics, including the application and demand of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Chinese language teaching, the integration of digital international Chinese education systems, global communication strategies, the aesthetic and integrative approaches to cultural instruction, and the unique role of Chinese education in civilizational dialogue.
At the closing ceremony, the moderators of the eight parallel forums presented summaries of their discussions, which explored issues such as regional Chinese language education, international communication of Chinese culture, digital and intelligent technologies that empower cultural dissemination, and the role of generative AI in teaching Chinese internationally. Thirteen outstanding papers by young scholars were selected and awarded honor certificates.
As a premier academic gathering for international Chinese communication, the symposium brought together leading minds to deepen understanding of the mission and pathways of international Chinese communication in the new era. It contributed significantly to promoting cross-cultural dialogue and advancing the high-quality development of international Chinese education.
The event was co-hosted by the Division of International Chinese Communication of the Society on Modernization of Chinese Language, the International School of Chinese Studies at Beijing Language and Culture University, and the College of International Chinese Education at Yunnan University, with the support of 10 other universities, including East China Normal University.
