Yunnan University's historic success at national life sciences competition

Yunnan University earned six first prizes, eight second prizes, and 15 third prizes, as well as the "Outstanding Organization Award" in the Yunnan regional division at the finals of the 10th China Undergraduate Life Sciences Competition (CULSC).

The university's delegation was composed of students and faculty from the School of Life Sciences and the School of Ecology and Environment. Their strong performance highlights the university's long-standing commitment to integrating education, scientific research, and talent cultivation. By emphasizing the integration of industry and education, science and teaching, and fostering student innovation through project-based learning, Yunnan University continues to drive excellence in science education.

The university plans to use high-level academic competitions to deepen the reform of its practical teaching system and enhance the training quality of top-tier innovative talent in the life sciences field.

As a premier national-level event in the life sciences, the CULSC is held annually and features two tracks: "Scientific Inquiry" and "Innovation & Entrepreneurship". The competition serves as a platform to cultivate students' creativity, research skills, and comprehensive abilities.

This year's competition reached an all-time high for its scale: in the Scientific Inquiry track, 718 projects from 231 universities advanced to the finals, while in the Innovation & Entrepreneurship track, 518 projects from 210 universities made it to the final stage.
