A 15-member delegation from the Association of Returned Students from Laos Studying in Yunnan visited Yunnan University for discussions and exchanges on Sept 19. The delegation was led by Saysana Sitthiphone, vice minister of the Ministry of Technology and Communications of Laos, and honorary president of the association.

Ma Wenhui, president of Yunnan University, attended the meeting and delivered a welcome speech. He emphasized the university's commitment to educational cooperation with Laos and expressed gratitude for the delegation's role in strengthening alumni ties. He expressed hope that the association would continue to unite alumni to advance China–Laos cooperation in education and science.
Saysana noted that Yunnan University has trained a large number of outstanding talents for Laos, making significant contributions to the country's socio-economic development. He added that the association would continue to serve as a bridge for Laos–China exchanges and cooperation.
The two sides held in-depth discussions on scientific research cooperation and talent training in digital education, artificial intelligence, and Dai traditional medicine.
