The canteens at Yunnan University have introduced a seasonal rose-themed menu for students and faculty, featuring everything from desserts to savory dishes and soups.
The roses used in these creations are all grown on campus, including Dianhong and Damascus roses. Harvested in the early morning or evening, the fresh blooms are delivered to the kitchen for cleaning and preparation.

In addition to being used in canteen dishes, the roses are processed into flower cakes and a variety of specialty pastries.
