YNU research featured in Nature Communications' Editor's Highlights

Updated: Oct 9, 2026

A research paper by Qian Shengbang's team at the School of Physics and Astronomy, Yunnan University, has been selected for the Editor's Highlights in the "Astronomy and Planetary Science" section of Nature Communications.

The paper, B-type host stars revealed by exoplanets around massive secondary-clump giant stars, investigates the planetary systems of massive B-type stars by examining their evolved red-clump giant descendants, providing direct evidence for the existence of regular-orbit planetary systems around these hot stars, which have long been difficult to identify.

Editor's Highlights showcases 50 of the most compelling papers recently published in selected research fields, offering an overview of studies recognized for their potential breakthroughs and impact.

The "Astronomy and Planetary Science" section covers a broad range of fields, including astronomy, astrophysics, planetary science, and space and satellite technologies. It also highlights advances that offer practical solutions to real-world challenges.
