History

Yunnan University's School of History and Archives, composed of the former history department of the School of Liberal Arts and the former department of information and archives of the School of Public Administration, is a new school, established in the reorganization of Yunnan University in 2015.

 

Goals

The ultimate goal of the School of History and Archives is to become a research-based school aimed at fostering high-quality professionals with a solid theoretical foundation, excellent practical ability, good moral character and innovative spirit by adhering to the ideal of Yunnan University, that "Wisdoms from many, justice for all", using the university's discipline advantage and teaching characteristics, and taking teaching as its foundation, research as its center, disciplinary development as its priority and innovative development as its theme.

 

Majors

The School of History and Archives currently has four first-class disciplines, Chinese history, world history, archaeology, and the science of library and information and archives management. It has two departments, the history department and the department of archives and information management, through which it runs three undergraduate programs: history, archives, and information management and systems.

 

Faculty

The School of History and Archives has a faculty of 63 outstanding full-time teachers.
