A senior delegation led by Fang Jingyun, president of Yunnan University, on April 23 visited the Yunnan Botanee Group in Kunming -- capital city of Southwest China's Yunnan province -- to expand and improve their existing partnership.
Li Chenyang, executive vice-president of YNU and Zhao Qihua, vice-president of the university, participated in the visit. Guo Zhenyu, a former student of YNU and now chairman and president of the Yunnan Botanee Group, held a meeting with the delegation.
The YNU president thanked Guo for his suggestions and support of the university's development. He presented a briefing on its development in recent years, as well as its cooperation with companies in terms of its academic disciplines, training of students and scientific research.
He urged the company and YNU to expand their cooperation, in order to contribute more to Yunnan's social and economic development.
Later, company chairman Guo Zhenyu gave a talk backgrounding his group's growth history, current development and future plans.
His report detailed proposals for deeper links between the university and the company, promoting the development and utilization of the group's resources in Yunnan province -- as well as strengthening its scientific research platforms and its training and scientific research service capabilities.
He said the company looked forward to fruitful results from its cooperation with YNU.
