The seventh campus fluorescent night run was held on April 25 at the Chenggong campus of Yunnan University (YNU) in Kunming, the capital city of Southwest China's Yunnan province.

Hosted by the Communist Youth League Committee of YNU and the School of Sports, the event was participated in by more than 1,500 teachers and students, including university officials such as Fang Jingyun, president of YNU, and Chen Huaxian, deputy Party secretary of YNU.

The event included two parts, namely the run and an evening party. It aimed to encourage teachers and students to participate in sports activities and keep fit, as well as to promote friendships between students.

Having been held for seven sessions, the event is one of the largest sports events at YNU. This year, it was themed on celebrations for the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China.

At the opening ceremony, dance, martial arts and taekwondo performances were staged. This year's running event included individual races for men and women, and the course was about 5 kilometers in length.

He Wenyan from the School of Chemical Science and Technology won the men's race and Shen Ruojing from the Law School won the women's group.

Following the run, students danced in circles holding glow sticks.

According to university officials, this year's event was held following comprehensive pandemic prevention and control measures.
